Mental Health America of Northeast Florida

The Jacksonville System of Care Initiative and The Partnership established a mental health research center and training institute as well as supported other messaging and advocacy centers and strategies at Mental Health America of Northeast Florida.

The Mental Health Advocacy Center at Mental Health America works to enact legislation that affects mental health treatment in Florida, as well as to raise awareness and create a stable care system.

Through the support of community partnerships, two programs and services have been made possible to help girls and young women who have been impacted or experienced trauma by the juvenile justice system: The Girl-Centered Institute and Juvenile Justice Sequential Intercept Mapping.

Mental Health America of Northeast Florida envisions a just, humane and healthy society which recognizes that mental illness is as treatable as other illnesses and thus all people are accorded respect, dignity and the opportunity to achieve their full potential free from stigma and prejudice. This community will be strengthened by achieving victory over mental illness through advocacy, research, education and outreach.
