Through strong community partnerships sharing a common vision of improving outcomes for children, JSOCI through The Partnership has been able to boost mental health services provided in the health care, welfare, and school systems. JSOCI has partnered with the Baptist Foundation to create a $1.25 million Hall-Halliburton endowment to sustain the Collaborative Care initiative that provides pediatricians with training to identify signs of depression and suicide risk among youth and determine appropriate treatment. Thus far, 12,000 adolescents have been screened for suicide and depression, and more than 1,200 children have been tested for social and emotional challenges due to Collaborative Care.
